  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup strawberry puree
  • 1 cup vanilla frosting
  • 1 cup chocolate frosting

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare three 8‑inch round cake pans.
  2. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla extract.
  4. Whisk dry ingredients together.
  5. Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk to the butter mixture.
  6. Divide batter into three bowls; fold strawberry puree into one, leave one plain for chocolate, stir vanilla frosting into the third.
  7. Pour each batter into its pan and bake 25‑30 minutes.
  8. Cool cakes completely.
  9. Frost each layer with matching frosting and stack.
