Description

Low Sugar Applesauce Oatmeal Cookies: Chewy, soft, and naturally sweetened—these guilt-free treats are perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth without refined sugar. They’re packed with wholesome oats, warm cinnamon, and a touch of apple goodness in every bite!


Ingredients

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • ¾ cup whole wheat flour (or oat flour)
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ⅓ cup unsweetened applesauce
  • ¼ cup coconut oil (melted)
  • 3 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Optional: ¼ cup raisins or dark chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350F (175C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix oats, flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together applesauce, melted coconut oil, honey, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture and stir until combined. Fold in raisins or chocolate chips if using.
  5. Scoop spoonfuls of dough onto the baking sheet, flatten slightly with the back of a spoon.
  6. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges turn lightly golden. Let cool before serving.

Notes

  • For a gluten-free version, use certified gluten-free oats and gluten-free flour (or oat flour).
  • Store cookies in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature or freeze for longer storage.
