  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs

  • Zest of 2 lemons
  • ¼ cup lemon juice
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for icing)
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice (for icing)

Instructions

  1. Activate yeast in warm milk until foamy.
  2. Whisk butter, sugar, eggs, salt, lemon zest, and lemon juice.
  3. Add yeast mixture and gradually stir in flour to form dough.
  4. Knead dough 5‑7 minutes until smooth.
  5. Let dough rise 1 hour in a greased bowl.
  6. Punch down, roll out, brush with butter, sprinkle sugar and zest, roll tightly, cut into 12 pieces.
  7. Second rise 30 minutes in greased pan.
  8. Bake at 350°F for 20‑25 minutes.
  9. Mix powdered sugar with lemon juice for icing.
  10. Drizzle icing over warm rolls and serve.

Notes
