Ingredients

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, beat together the softened butter, powdered sugar, heavy cream, and peppermint extract until a soft dough forms.
  2. Divide the dough into two equal portions.
  3. Tint one portion with red gel food coloring and knead until evenly colored.
  4. Roll both portions into long ropes.
  5. Twist the red and white ropes together, then roll gently to blend into a swirl.
  6. Cut into bite-size pieces and place on a parchment-lined tray.
  7. Let them air-dry for 12–24 hours until firm on the outside but soft inside.
