- 1½ lbs halal beef or chicken meatballs, homemade or gluten-free frozen
- ½ cup honey
- ⅓ cup gluten-free soy sauce or tamari
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- ½ tsp ground ginger
- 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water
- Optional: sesame seeds and chopped green onions
Instructions
- Place meatballs directly into the slow cooker.
- In a bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, garlic, ketchup, vinegar, sesame oil, and ginger.
- Pour sauce over meatballs and gently stir to coat.
- Cover and cook on low for 4 hours or on high for 2 hours.
- Stir in cornstarch mixture, cover, and cook an additional 10–15 minutes until sauce thickens.
- Garnish if desired and serve warm.

- To keep this gluten-free, use gluten-free tamari or soy sauce and gluten-free meatballs.
- Thicken the sauce at the end with the cornstarch slurry and simmer briefly until glossy and thickened.
