Description

Runza Casserole is a hearty, cheesy casserole that captures the classic Midwestern runza sandwich flavor with seasoned beef, sauerkraut, beef pepperoni, and a buttery crescent roll crust, perfect for family dinners and easy weeknight meals.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cups beef pepperoni, sliced
  • 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1 cup sauerkraut, drained
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook beef and onion in a skillet until browned; drain excess fat.
  3. Add beef pepperoni and sauerkraut; season with salt and pepper.
  4. Press crescent roll dough into a greased 9×13 baking dish.
  5. Spread beef mixture over dough and sprinkle cheese on top.
  6. Bake 25-30 minutes until crust is golden and cheese bubbly.
  7. Let rest 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier version
