  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 cups crushed salted pretzels
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • Cooking spray or oil (for baking)

For the Mustard-Cheddar Sauce:

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare a baking sheet.
  2. Mix crushed pretzels, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper in a shallow bowl.
  3. Dredge chicken in flour, dip in egg-milk mixture, and coat with pretzels.
  4. Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden and cooked through.
  5. For sauce, melt butter, whisk in flour, then add milk and cook until thickened.
  6. Stir in mustard and cheddar until smooth.
  7. Serve sauce over baked chicken.

  • Use thin chicken breasts or pound them evenly for quicker cooking.
  • Adjust seasoning to taste or use honey mustard for a sweeter sauce variation.
