Description

Philly Cheesesteak Sloppy Joes: A quick, zesty, and juicy one-pan twist on the classic Philly cheesesteak, made with halal ground beef, onions, peppers, and melty provolone on toasted buns.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb halal ground beef
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • ¾ cup beef broth
  • 2 tbsp A-1 sauce or halal steak sauce
  • 1 tsp steak seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 6 hamburger buns
  • 6 slices provolone cheese (halal-certified)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  2. Add onion, green pepper, and garlic. Cook 3–4 minutes until softened.
  3. Stir in beef broth, A-1 sauce, steak seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  4. Reduce heat and simmer 8–10 minutes until slightly thickened.
  5. Toast buns lightly if desired.
  6. Spoon beef mixture onto the buns and top with provolone cheese.
  7. Cover briefly or broil for 1–2 minutes until cheese is melted.
  8. Serve hot.
