Description

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp peppermint extract
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar for rolling
  • Crushed peppermint candies or candy canes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Mix in peppermint extract.
  4. Add flour, cornstarch, and salt. Mix until a soft dough forms.
  5. Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on prepared baking sheets.
  6. Bake 10-12 minutes until just set, not browned.
  7. Cool for 5 minutes, then gently roll cookies in powdered sugar.
  8. Once fully cooled, roll again in powdered sugar.
  9. Sprinkle with crushed peppermint candies if desired.
