- Crushed peppermint candies or candy canes (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cream butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
- Mix in peppermint extract.
- Add flour, cornstarch, and salt. Mix until a soft dough forms.
- Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on prepared baking sheets.
- Bake 10-12 minutes until just set, not browned.
- Cool for 5 minutes, then gently roll cookies in powdered sugar.
- Once fully cooled, roll again in powdered sugar.
- Sprinkle with crushed peppermint candies if desired.

- Roll the cookies in powdered sugar while they are still warm to help the sugar adhere, then roll again after they cool for a snowy finish.
