Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp instant yeast
  • 1½ tsp salt
  • 1½ cups warm water (about 110°F / 43°C)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, yeast, and salt.
  2. Pour in warm water and stir until a shaggy dough forms (it will be sticky—don’t worry).
  3. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a damp towel and let it rest at room temperature for 2 hours, or until doubled in size and bubbly.
  4. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). Place your Dutch oven (with lid) inside to preheat for 30 minutes.
  5. While the oven heats, lightly flour a surface and shape the dough into a rough ball.
  6. Carefully remove the hot Dutch oven, line it with parchment paper, and place the dough inside.
  7. Cover with the lid and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the lid and bake for another 10–15 minutes until golden and crusty.
  8. Cool on a wire rack before slicing. Serve warm and enjoy the fresh bread aroma filling your kitchen!
