- 1 bag (9.75 oz) Doritos Nacho Cheese chips
- 8 oz mozzarella cheese, cut into cubes
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Marinara sauce for dipping (optional)
Instructions
- Crush the Doritos in a food processor or by sealing them in a bag and rolling with a rolling pin until finely crushed. Pour into a shallow bowl.
- Place the flour in a second bowl and the beaten eggs in a third.
- Dip each mozzarella cube into the flour, then the egg, then roll it in the crushed Doritos.
- For an extra-crispy coating, dip the coated cube back into the egg and again into the crushed Doritos.
- Heat oil in a deep skillet or pot over medium-high heat.
- Fry the cheese bites in small batches for 20–30 seconds until golden and crispy.
- Remove and place on a paper towel–lined plate to drain excess oil.
- Serve warm with marinara sauce if desired.
Notes
- For an extra-crispy crust, double-dip the coated mozzarella in the egg and Doritos.
- Maintain oil temperature around 350°F (175°C) for even frying.
- Drain bites well on paper towels to prevent sogginess.
- Serve with warm marinara sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
