- 1 lb halal chicken thighs or breasts
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp black pepper
- Salt to taste
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup cornstarch
- Oil for frying
- 2 cups all-purpose flour (for biscuits)
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 6 tbsp cold butter, cubed
- ¾ cup milk
- ½ cup honey
- 1–2 tbsp hot sauce (halal)
- ½ tsp chili flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Marinate chicken in buttermilk, paprika, garlic powder, pepper, and salt for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Make biscuits by mixing flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in butter until crumbly, then stir in milk.
- Pat dough, cut biscuits, and bake 12–15 minutes until golden.
- Heat oil in a skillet. Mix flour and cornstarch. Dredge marinated chicken and fry until golden and cooked through.
- Warm honey with hot sauce and chili flakes to make hot honey.
- Split biscuits, add fried chicken, and drizzle generously with hot honey.
- Serve warm.
