Description
Easy Crockpot Chicken and Gravy: Tender, slow-cooked chicken in a rich, creamy gravy that’s perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 packet halal-certified chicken gravy mix
- 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup (halal or homemade)
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Place chicken breasts in the bottom of your crockpot.
- In a bowl, whisk together chicken broth, gravy mix, cream of chicken soup, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until smooth.
- Pour the gravy mixture over the chicken.
- Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours or on high for 3–4 hours, until the chicken is tender and easy to shred.
- Shred the chicken directly in the crockpot using two forks, then stir to coat in the gravy.
- Serve warm over mashed potatoes, rice, noodles, or steamed vegetables. Garnish with parsley if desired.
Notes
- Best liquid for chicken gravy is chicken broth; you can substitute stock or halal gravy mix as needed.
- To thicken the gravy, whisk in a cornstarch slurry and cook a few minutes longer if you desire a thicker sauce.
- Leftovers refrigerate for 3–4 days or can be frozen for longer storage.
- Using halal-certified ingredients helps ensure the recipe stays halal compliant.
