Crockpot Cheese Tortellini and Sausage is a creamy, cozy, and incredibly easy slow cooker pasta dish featuring halal Italian sausage and tender cheese tortellini.

- 1 lb halal Italian sausage, casings removed
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 cups marinara sauce
- 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- ½ tsp paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 package (20–24 oz) cheese tortellini (refrigerated or frozen)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown the halal Italian sausage, breaking it apart with a spoon. Drain excess fat if needed.
- Add the cooked sausage, onion, garlic, marinara sauce, diced tomatoes, chicken broth, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper to the slow cooker. Stir well.
- Cover and cook on low for 3 hours.
- Add the tortellini and heavy cream, stirring gently to combine.
- Cover and cook for an additional 20–30 minutes, until the tortellini is tender.
- Stir in the shredded mozzarella and let it melt into the sauce.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving warm.
Notes
- Uses halal Italian sausage; substitute any sausage if halal is not required.
- Frozen tortellini can be used; no need to thaw.
- If you prefer a thicker sauce, simmer uncovered for a few minutes after cooking and adjust as needed.
- Leftovers refrigerate well for up to 3 days.
