- 1 lb halal beef or chicken sausage, sliced
- 4 cups potatoes, peeled and diced
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp paprika
- ½ tsp dried thyme
- 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water
- Optional: chopped green onions or parsley
Instructions
- Place sliced sausage, potatoes, onion, and garlic into the crockpot.
- Pour in chicken broth and season with salt, pepper, paprika, and thyme.
- Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours or until potatoes are very tender.
- Stir in milk, heavy cream, shredded cheese, and cornstarch mixture.
- Cover and cook for an additional 15 minutes until thick and creamy.
- Stir well, garnish if desired, and serve hot.
Notes
- Best made with halal sausage; you can substitute beef or chicken halal sausage if needed.
- For a thinner soup, add extra broth; for a thicker soup, reduce broth or cook a few more minutes after adding starch.
- Garnish with chopped green onions or parsley for color.
