Description

Classic Homemade Cranberry Sauce: A simple, bright, sweet-tart holiday classic made with only 3 ingredients. Fresh, vibrant, and worlds better than canned.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz fresh cranberries
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • Optional: 1 tsp orange zest or a splash of orange juice for extra brightness

Instructions

  1. Rinse the cranberries and discard any soft or bruised ones.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine the water and sugar. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
  3. Add the cranberries and stir gently. Cook for 10–12 minutes until most berries burst and the sauce thickens.
  4. Remove from heat and let it cool; it will continue to thicken as it rests.
  5. Adjust sweetness or add orange zest if desired.
  6. Serve chilled or at room temperature.

Notes

  • Can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator for up to a week.
  • Great with turkey or roasts and can be served chilled or at room temperature.
  • Orange zest or a splash of orange juice brightens the flavor.
