- 1 lb halal smoked turkey sausage, sliced
- 2 lbs potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup milk
- 1 packet ranch seasoning mix
- 2 tbsp butter, melted
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13 baking dish.
- In a large bowl, whisk together sour cream, milk, melted butter, ranch seasoning, pepper, and paprika.
- Add the cubed potatoes and diced onion. Stir until everything is coated.
- Transfer the mixture to the baking dish and cover with foil.
- Bake for 55–65 minutes, or until potatoes are tender.
- Remove from the oven, stir in the sliced halal smoked sausage, and sprinkle cheddar cheese over the top.
- Return to the oven uncovered and bake for an additional 15–20 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving warm.
Notes
- Gluten-free note: ensure the ranch seasoning mix is gluten-free if needed.
- Substitute: you can use other smoked sausages if halal options are not available.
- Make-ahead option: assemble up to the point of baking, cover, and refrigerate for up to 24 hours; bake longer when cooking from cold.
