- 1 can (16 oz) refrigerated biscuits, cut into quarters
- 1 lb halal breakfast sausage or turkey sausage
- 6 large eggs
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 cups milk
- 4 tbsp butter
- 4 tbsp flour
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp paprika
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 baking dish.
- Cook the halal sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned. Set aside.
- Melt the butter in the same skillet. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute to form a roux.
- Slowly whisk in the milk, then add salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Simmer until thick and creamy to make the gravy.
- In a bowl, whisk the eggs with a pinch of salt and paprika.
- Spread the biscuit pieces evenly over the baking dish.
- Top with cooked sausage, then pour the whisked eggs over the top.
- Sprinkle with cheddar cheese.
- Pour the gravy evenly across the casserole.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes until biscuits are cooked through and the top is golden and bubbly.
- Rest 5 minutes before serving warm.
Notes
- Tip: Assemble the casserole the night before and refrigerate; bake in the morning for a quick brunch.
- Use halal sausage to keep it halal, or substitute with turkey sausage if desired.
- Leftovers refrigerate well for up to 3 days; reheat in the oven or microwave.
