- 1 pound halal turkey sausage, cooked and crumbled
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 ½ cups milk
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough, cut into quarters
- 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
- Optional: chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Spread half of the biscuit pieces evenly across the bottom of the dish.
- Sprinkle the cooked turkey sausage over the biscuits.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1 minute.
- Slowly pour in the milk while whisking until smooth. Add garlic powder, onion powder, pepper, and salt.
- Simmer until the gravy thickens, then remove from heat.
- Pour the gravy evenly over the sausage layer.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheese across the top.
- Add the remaining biscuit pieces over the cheese.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden and the casserole is bubbly.
- Rest for 10 minutes before serving; garnish with parsley if you like.
